Referral Pattern Analysis
and Modification Tracking Physician Ordering Patterns
RadAlert™ allows payers to monitor radiology ordering patterns and identify providers who may need ordering behavior modification training. HealthHelp works with payers to establish customized criteria for recognizing physicians whose radiology orders don’t comply with evidence-based guidelines. When software alerts detect problematic patterns, plan administrators may choose to conduct chart reviews or take a closer look at ordering and outcomes. Identified physicians may also be required to take HealthHelp’s research-based clinical examination within thirty days.
RadAlert is most often used in conjunction with HealthHelp’s collaborative radiology management program, RadConsult™, or with its preauthorization option, RadCert™. When RadAlert is integrated with either of these robust radiology benefit management programs, identified physicians’ orders can be tracked for six months through a benchmarking and profiling program to ensure that unnecessary or inappropriate utilization does not continue.
