Cherrill Farnsworth

President and Chief Executive Officer

 

Ms. Farnsworth, an influential national expert on changing health care regulations, regularly advocates radiology management and reform before the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other congressional and regulatory bodies. She sits on several boards, including that of the American Association of PPOs. She also serves on the faculties of the Radiological Society of North America and American Healthcare Radiology Administrators and on the editorial advisory boards of Imaging Economics and Advanced Imaging. Ms. Farnsworth led HealthHelp to listing by Inc. as one of the nation’s 500 fastest growing private companies. She has also received entrepreneur of the year awards from KPMG Peat Marwick and Ernst & Young.

 

 

Mark D. Hiatt, MD, MBA, MS

Chief Medical Officer

 

Dr. Hiatt brings to HealthHelp a broad understanding of health care's evolving economic context and the transformative role of technology in medicine.  Previously, he served as radiology department leader and board member for Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics in Tyler, Texas. Dr. Hiatt completed a fellowship in cardiovascular imaging at Stanford University after a residence in diagnostic radiology at the University of Virginia and medical school at Wake Forest. He also earned an MBA from Wake Forest University and a master's in Health Evaluation Sciences, with an emphasis in medical informatics, from the University of Virginia. Dr. Hiatt has published numerous scientific articles and chapters, has presented at various scientific conferences, and is active in many professional organizations.  

 

 

Steve Spar, MS, PE, MCP

Chief Information Officer

 

Mr. Spar has nearly twenty-five years of experience in technology-company growth and management. Before joining HealthHelp, he served as the president of ESX Engineering, a health care- and Internet-oriented information technology consulting firm. Prior to ESX, Mr. Spar served as the vice president of software development and engineering for Physix, a leading provider of physician-workflow software. In addition, Mr. Spar was a cofounder, director, and executive vice president of Optex Biomedical, a venture capital-backed, publicly traded technology company that develops sophisticated, software-driven medical instrumentation. Mr. Spar holds a B.S. degree in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University and a M.S. degree from Texas A&M University. He is a registered professional engineer and a Microsoft Certified Professional.

 

 

Valarie Borow, MD

Chief Innovation Officer

 

Dr. Borow brings to HealthHelp nearly twenty years of experience in training medical coding and billing teams. In a previous role at Per-Se Technologies, she educated physicians on documentation standards, compliance issues, coding guidelines, and major risk elements, and she implemented mandatory training courses for all procedural coders in the company’s central U.S. operations. In addition, Dr. Borow performed audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal regulations.

 

 

 

Victor Manes, MBA

Vice President of Corporate Development

 

Mr. Manes has devoted his career to health care in the fields of sales, development, and physician practice management. Mr. Manes works with insurance companies and national broker networks to identify customized solutions to best meet their goals for cost reduction, safety, and quality. Prior to joining HealthHelp, Mr. Manes served as director of international development for Texas Children’s Hospital and as director of ambulatory care for Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.

 

 

 

Brian Gregory, CPA

Vice President and Controller

 

Before joining HealthHelp, Mr. Gregory held leadership positions in the insurance and financial industries as chief operating officer of Gallagher Healthcare Insurance Services and as regional chief financial officer of USI Insurance Services. Mr. Gregory began his career with the KPMG Peat Marwick accounting firm, where he spent four years in public practice before moving into industry practice.
